What's that in your eyeballs?

Postby Call_of_the_Wendigo on Sun Nov 23, 2008 11:44 am

This is where you can tell us what you've been watching lately. :)

I've watched nothing on TV today, what with it being Sunday morning but, last night, I watched Dr Who and... erm, I mean Eddington and Einstein and bits of The Devil's Whore which looked decent, plus bits of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here which I have to admit didn't really grab me; over-familiarity having taken the shine off it all for me. Plus I saw the first half hour of Match of the Day before I decided I had to abandon it to see through my duties on here. The sacrifices I make for you people.

Lately I've been watching The X Files, I'm on season 3 at the moment.

I don't watch proper TV any more.

I don't watch normal TV much these days either..

What's I've been grooving to recently is the Early Doctor Who series the Krotons, Oh no, Jamie's going to be killed for failing an exam!

On CD. the effects are probably better on audio. c'ept Wendy Padbury , obviously.

I tried to watch Gavin and Stacey tonight, for the first time, mostly because people in the media keep saying how brilliant it is. Obviously there's something wrong with me because I found it peculiarly witless, arch and outmoded.

I'm watching the Avengers' Too Many Christmas Trees episode,

Not bad but I preferred the colour remake they made.

Is now a good time to mention my cullottes/Tara King fixation?

The latter was cured when I saw Linda Thornston on Emmerdale. to be honest.

I've just watched the first hour of the 39 Steps. My God it was bad and seemed to have got mixed up with North by North West somewhere along the way.

I've just been watching a documentary about Yellowstone Park, on BBC2. What a horrible place. It was all cold and frozen and unpleasant and full of wolves and fighting and biting and snarling and stealing each others' food. Naughty animals. Don't they know that stealing is wrong :nono:?

And they didn't even show Yogi Bear, even though he would've been the main reason people were tuning in.

It did have a lovely fluffy fox in it though :lovethem:

It was good but it was all very unpleasant. You started to think maybe they should get guns out and start shooting the animals, which I suspect wasn't the intention.

I thought I must be alone in the universe in thinking 'Gavin and Stacey' is awful. Admittedly I haven't seen very many episodes, but what I have seen is enough to convince me I'm right. Right, right, right! And having also watched - horrified - Corden and Horne's new sketch show, and the crap they shovelled out for Comic Relief night, my convictions have only been further reinforced. They aren't funny, witty, charming, thoughtful, inventive, innovative or original in any way - it's crap!

But maybe I'm being unfair.

I will make a point of watching 'The Wire' when it broadcasts on terrestrial, however. I've not heard anything bad about it so far. :)
Up and at 'em!

[s]Jellystone[/s] Yellowstone is not a place I'd like to be lower down on the food chain in, why Yogi and Boo Boo frequent it is beyond me :dunno2:

But what amazingly beautiful scenery, and that fluffy fox was pretty clever diving 6ft into the snow to grab a mouse

Yes, I didn't like all the unpleasantness. I don't like that sort of documentary about animals. I like the nice documentaries, the ones where the animals are nice to each other and help each other out. The sort that Walt Disney makes. You know, the ones with the singing .

The second episode of [s]Jellystone[/s] Yellowstone was much more pleasant, there were lots of cuddly bear cubs play fighting and ground squirrels scuttling about. The highlight was the young bison being protected by the adults when the wolves came snooping :horse: :applause:
