The complete and total piccalilli thread

Postby Call_of_the_Wendigo on Sat Jun 17, 2017 12:44 pm

I've just bought a jar of piccalilli.

It's the first jar of it that I've ever bought.

I've just had some.

On a cheese and peanut butter and liver paté sandwich.

It's not as strong as I'd expected.

I think I like it.

I don't know what it actually is.

Are you fan of piccalilli?

If so, you can say so here.

If not, you can say so here.

:excited:

I had some of that when I was too young for it, and it traumatised me. I think of it as the mustard gas of the tea table.

I always mix it up with Piccadilly, because it's yellow, and so is Piccadilly on the Monopoly board.

I've just had a piccalilli and cheddar and edam sandwich, using the white bread I purchased earlier. :box:

Apparently, it's an English version of an Indian recipe.

It is made from cauliflower, onion, and gherkin with seasonings of mustard and turmeric.

Cheddar and edam, that's a combination for someone who appreciates the subtlest nuances of cheese.

It's like combining diamond and talc in a deep-earth boring drill bit.
