The airing cupboard thread

Postby FanGirl3 on Sun Sep 18, 2016 10:14 am

(Really this thread should go in the 'Mrs Fangirl's Household Management' subforum, but there isn't one)

I've become concerned that I'm using my airing cupboard wrong - I dry my clothes on a clothes horse outside, or in the bathroom, then iron them, then put them in the airing cupboard to air for a a few days before putting them back in their cupboards and drawers :speech:

But when I searched the internet for airing cupboard anecdotes just now, I found that many people put the clothes in the airing cupboard when they take them off the line, then iron them a few days later before putting them away.

:dontpanic:

I don't like opening my airing cupboard. I'm always scared that, when I open the door, there'll be something unpleasant in it, so I don't use it. :(

Mine only contains pleasant things, like the shiny new cylinder and heating controls, and nice clean clothes in baskets. :bowtie:

My airing cupboard doesn't have a heating device in it. It was removed years ago. :(

Now it's just an empty cupboard, with shelves in it. :(

Can anyone offer an opinion about my actual question about the drying-ironing-airing sequence? :colbert:

I have a question about your airing cupboard...

Can I come and live in your airing cupboard?

We say ''hot press'' here. :happybudgie:

I've honestly never even heard of clothes going there before. :rimshot:
It's where the bedding and towels live. :colbert:
