Daffodil watch

I've seen ONE open daffodil so far this year. It's in the front garden of the house where I do occasional gardening. There's quite a few green leafy bits dotted around but only one open flower. I fear I may have dug out some of the daffodil bulbs when I was trying to get rid of the invasive montbretia. :(2

My solitary daffodil is back.

As always, it has no flowers.

I have a row of 7 or 8 daffodils just coming out under the apple tree - exactly where I planted the bulbs last October.

I stuck in some bulbs earlier in February and one just opened today!

There is another wild one but I've only ever seen it flower once or twice and it looks like it won't this year.

Yeah, it's great. When I put in daffodils this year I forgot that the same place is also full of wild violets. A whole carpet of the latter have appeared in the last day or two. Now, I'm not usually one for juxtaposing opposites on the colour wheel (or is that orange? whatever) but the effect of the bright yellow and deep purple is just luverly.

The daffodils seem to have been out for ages this year. The first shoots were up in December and the flowers seem to have been out for weeks.

I've been collecting fallen daffodils to put in a vase of water in the kotchen window. :box:

The warmish weather last week brought out my daffs but the rain squished a few today :(
